LowLife Bar: Beachy cocktails, good brunch and a delicious menu (cerviche, shrimp roll, burgers) in a chill setting just a few blocks away

Jack of Cups: Our favorite spot for delicious dinner and take-out. The curries are the bomb.

Bowen’s Island: A short drive away- fresh, local seafood fried and served on the docks. It’s touristy for a reason: it’s really good.

Crosby’s Seafood: Stop by Crosby’s as you cross on the island for the freshest local catch and whip up a feast at Camp.

Folly Beach: home to pirates, shipwrecked sailors, soldiers, artists, musicians and dancers. A quick 10 miles from downtown Charleston, “The Edge of America” remains wildly untouched by Charleston’s booming tourism industry. No chain businesses allowed, just 6 miles of beach, surf, sunshine. It’s a lowkey, no-shoes kind of beach town, and pretty much everything is walkable from Camp Huron.

a few of our favorites…

Center Street Coffee: Local coffee and pastries a few blocks away

Black Magic Cafe: American breakfast and lunch, think: salads, wraps, sandwiches

Lost Dog: Fresh juices, amazing breakfast & lunch, dogs welcome

Bert’s Market: Island market with groceries, flip-flops, corn-dogs, wine... Bert’s has it all, including the best ever sausage biscuits and decent but free coffee. Also tasty deli sandwiches made to order.

Chico Feo: outdoor seating-only bar with a costa rican vibe and very small menu. Everything sounds weird but tastes amazing. Great tacos, killer beer menu.

Taco Boy: The original Taco Boy is a Folly institution. Fresh Mexican with a long taco menu and good margaritas.

Woody’s Pizza: Every beach town needs a solid pizza spot for delivery, takeout or dine in, and Woody’s does not disappoint.
